MINI Coupe Concept - 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show Video
The MINI Coupé Concept is engineered to receive the most powerful engine in the current MINI line-up, used in John Cooper Works models. The 1.6-litre turbocharged unit develops 211bhp, with an EU Combined fuel economy of 40.9mpg and CO2 emissions of 165g/km.
Reduced weight and a potentially stiffer bodyshell mean that handling should be even sharper than existing production cars. Like them, the concept has front-wheel drive, MacPherson strut front suspension and a centrally guided rear axle with aluminium longitudinal arms.
MINI claims a luggage capacity of 250 litres. The bulkhead between the passenger and luggage compartments has a lockable opening, giving occupants access to the rear section from inside the car.
